Reservations
The best way to make a reservation is to call (812) 340-0700.  Please click the date of your trip on the calendar below, complete the online reservation form and click the submit button to submit your trip request. At any point, feel free to call (812) 340- 0700 for more information.  A confirmation of your requested trip date will be through text to you with instructions for trip deposit payment (cash, Zelle, Venmo, card, or PayPal).  We typically text message you back details, shortly after a reservation comes in.

All river trips must be booked at least 24 hours in advance to reserve your place.  We reserve the right to modify your trip request in consideration of local conditions.

Reservation Deposit and Cancellation Policy

Reservations are Required. We have to know what we are doing every day.   We do require a 25% deposit to hold the reservation, by Zelle (preferably) , Venmo, (preferably), or PayPal.  For larger groups of 4 or more a Card can be used for a deposit.  We prefer other means of payments beside cards due to the fees.    Again, it is best to simply call (812) 340-0700 for a reservation for the up to date recommendations.

For balance payment either the day before or when we meet  up, we prefer, cash, but also use Zelle, Venmo, Paypal or can use a card (the day before), but again, we prefer not to use cards due to fees.

Cards: in our area cell coverage is poor and credit/debit cards are very hard to run from the field.  That is why we requst if you want to use a card we need to have that done the day before we meet up, to keep from slowing the operation way down in the field.

The Weather and Cancellation – “You Have Never Heard of a Great Indoorsman”

Unreliable/Untruthful Forecasters: The weather apps on your phone, as well as weather people on TV and radio lie to us.  Almost every day.  You know, like the rest of the media.  No forecast is accurate beyond 36 hours out, in spite of what is forecast.  100% of the time, when  people cancel based on a weather forecast over 36 hours out, we still get trips in without the forecast bad weather happening.   Note:  Our owner is an environmental scientist who specializes in storm water engineering and intimately knows our local weather patterns, and he watches the radar for any and all weather headed our way.

Pathfinder Outfitters ONLY watches the radar for a forecast, and we begin watching radar every day at 6:00am. We track weather and we work around it very successfully the vast majority of the time.  The final call on a trip being canceled for weather and getting a refund on your deposit rests with our owner.  Not the media or weather app forecast conjecture.

The storms that move across our area from SW to NE are typically less than 10 miles north to south and have a duration of less than 1 hour.  So it is easy to work around most storms.But your phone app and the weather people NEVER tll you that.  They just say a risk of severe weather.  Even if it is 80 miles north or south of us.

If the radar shows yellow or red headed toward the location of our trip(s) for the day, during the trip times, we will call/text you to:

1. Slightly change the times/location of your trip or;

2. If need be, cancel for you if we cannot make relatively minor adjustments to the trip to avoid a storm.  If we cannot make a minor adjustment to time or location, then we give a full refund of deposit (offering a full refund or reschedule) due to the following weather conditions:
1.) rain headed our way on the radar that is yellow or red
2.) lightning within 30 miles
3.) sustained wind of 15 mph or more

Pathfinder Outfitters does not cancel for light rain, spotty rain (green on the radar), a chance of rain, or unseasonably cool or hot weather. If the customer cancels for these conditions, the deposit will not be refunded. For final payment, when we hold your card or other electronic payment info,  Pathfinder Outfitters does not process your payment until 36 hours prior to your scheduled trip to ensure the weather will be suitable.

Our goal is for everyone to have an amazing experience l,and serve you well.  Far to frequently, our customers get cold feet about the weather from some completely inaccurate, sensationalized forecast way in advance.  Then they miss out on a great trip.
